Duplicate IP Scanner is a small, portable application that displays the IP, MAC and allocation type as it is currently saved in the ARP cache. In the worst case scenario, the data is collected and exploited by hackers to conduct potential cyber attacks. Given the mechanism behind, it does not come as a surprise that the ARP cache can sometimes get corrupted.
This is one of the reasons why sometimes you come to find out the hard way that your operating system fails to contact a particular device. The aforementioned IP addresses are mostly dynamic, whereas the cache is created by your system so that the PC can communicate effectively with them. The ARP cache refers to a collection of Address Resolution Protocol entries and it is generally created when IP addresses are resolved to a MAC address.
